The Bennington Township Planning Commission Meeting was held on February 23, 2023. Chair Russ Thomas called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm at the Township Hall.
Members Present: Donna Ash, Russ Thomas, Dick Demerly, Bill Nash, Jim Norder, Tom Runyan and Larry Johnson
Moved by Larry Johnson to approve the meeting agenda. Seconded by Bill Nash. Motion carried.
Moved by Larry Johnson to approve the minutes for the December 29, 2022 meeting. Seconded by Dick Demerly. Motion carried.

Moved by Larry Johnson to approve Variance Request application number PZBA23-001 by Kevin Dutcher of 5348 S Morrice Rd., Owosso, MI 48867. Property Owner is Shawnee Creek Farms LLC, 5307 S. Morrice Rd., Owosso, MI 48867. Parcel location is 5348 S. Morrice Rd., Owosso, MI 48867 and Parcel ID# is 010-14-200-002. Kevin Dutcher spoke on behalf of his Variance Request. Seconded by Jim Norder. Motion carried.
Move by Larry Johnson to approve Lot Line Adjustment Request application number: PLLA22-031 by applicant Consumers Energy, One Energy Plaza, Jackson, MI 49201. Property owner #1 is Consumers Energy, One Energy Plaza, Jackson, MI 49201. Property owner #2 is Russell & Gayle Thomas, 6136 Morrice Rd., Owosso, MI 48867. Parent parcels are 010-23-400-009, 010-23-100-002, 010-23-200-001 and 010-23-100-003 of Bennington Township. Seconded by Jim Norder. Motion carried. Russ Thomas abstained from voting.
The Board discussed our Master Plan Five Year Review. Rowe Engineering will update the Board at the April Meeting. No action taken.
Moved by Russ Thomas to recommend to the Bennington Township Board that Jim Norder be appointed to the Bennington Township Planning Commission for another three year term. Seconded by Bill Nash. Motion carried.
Moved by Larry Johnson to recommend to the Bennington Township Board that Russ Thomas be appointed to the Bennington Township Planning Commission for another three year term. Seconded by Russ Thomas. Motion carried.
