BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

 

 

The Bennington Township regular board was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on November 6, 2023, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Matt Dutcher, Lee Ash, Cody Baker, Donna Ash.

Forsythe moved to approve the agenda as presented. Second by Baker. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the Minutes for the October 2, 2023 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Baker. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to pay bills as presented in the amount $75,505.02. Second by L. Ash.  All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:
Two residents present, no comment.

Board Reports:
Plan Comm: No meeting. Next meeting is November 16, Rowe Engineering will be present to discuss the Master Plan.
Roads – L. Ash – 2023 projects are complete. Starting to put together 2024 projects.

Old Business:
Ambulance Contracts –

• Forsythe moved to accept the Ambulance Service contract from Mobile Medical Response, INC. as printed at a cost of $110 per household for five years to service the North part of the Township. Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
• Forsythe moved to accept the Ambulance Service Agreement Amendment from Southwest Shiawassee Emergency Service Alliance as printed at a cost of $110 per household for the South part of the Township. Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Blight – L. Ash updated the board on the blight concerns. One property has been sold and the new owner indicated that he would begin cleanup. Another property has been cleaned up. The third property has had positive progress.

New Business: None

Public Comment:
Co Comm Garber – Update of county activities. Also reported that Trent Atkins has been appointed as the Shiawassee County Emergency Manager as well as the Fire Chief of SSESA.
Library – Garber – Durand branch is currently being renovated.

Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
