The Bennington Township special board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on September 25, 2023, 10:00am, at the Township Hall.
This is a special board meeting in conjunction with Shiawassee County to discuss the County Zoning Ordinance and the role of the Township on blight issues.
Present: Lee Ash, Matt Dutcher, Jim Forsythe, Donna Ash
Also Present: County Commissioners Greg Brodeur, Tom Emery, and Cindy Garber

This meeting was an open forum allowing everyone present to discuss the topic at hand.
County Administrator Brian Boggs headed up the discussion with information regarding the law and how it pertains to blight, indicating that this concern falls into the hands of the Township. However the county could be contracted to assist. Boggs will look into the possibility of a contract between the County and the Townships to assist with blight, what this contract would look like and the cost that would be fronted by the Townships.
Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by Dutcher. Motion carried.
