BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

July 1, 2019

The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on July 1, 2019, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.

Present: Jim Forsythe, Matt Dutcher, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.

L. Ash moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Dutcher. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the June 3, 2019 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Seconded by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $17,516.56. Seconded by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:
Co Comm Garber – Update. Hired new Finance Director. Audit is not complete at this time.

Board Reports:

Library – Garber – Update. Audit is complete.

Plan Comm – D. Ash – Reviewed one rezoning and three variances and discussed the new Recreational Marijuana rules.

Roads – L. Ash – Currently mowing roadsides. Will begin mineral brine application soon.

New Business:

Shiawassee Firefighters Memorial – Sarah Moorodian spoke regarding a request for approval of a Charitable Gaming License. Zdunic moved to adopt a resolution to approve the request from Shiawassee Firefighters Memorial  to be recognized as a nonprofit organization operating in the community for the purpose of obtaining charitable game licenses. Second by Forsythe.  All board members in favor. Motion carried.

SATA Commitment – Forsythe moved to make a commitment to Shiawassee Area Transportation Agency for services for a term of October 1, 2019 – September 30, 2020 at a cost not to exceed $15,365.51. Second by L. Ash.  All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Parking Lot Repairs – Will look into some options for next meeting.

Fence – Dutcher moved to approve the proposal from Spartan Fence to replace the split rail fence at the Township Hall with split rail fencing at a cost of $7,775.00. Second by Zdunic.  All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Veteran Village Fundraiser Request – The Township has no ordinances or regulations regarding roadside donations.

Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash.  Motion carried.
