September 10, 2018
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on September 10, 2018, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Matt Dutcher, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.
L. Ash moved to approve the agenda with the addition of snow removal. Seconded by Dutcher. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the August 6, 2018 regular board meeting as printed. Seconded by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Seconded by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Dutcher moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $31,025.63. Seconded by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Public Comment:
Board Reports:
Library – Garber – Update.
Plan Comm – D. Ash – Recommended approval of three land division applications. Reviewed the Region 6 Housing information from Economic Development. Public Hearing for the Land Use Plan Update is scheduled for October 25, 7:00pm.
Co Comm – Jeff Bartz – Updated the board on County Activities.
Roads – L. Ash – Presented the board with a list of potential 2019 Road Projects.
MMR – Matt Kehn – Gave a response report for MMR. May 1, 2018 – August 31, 2018 the average response time was 7minutes 32 seconds with 12 minutes or better 86% of the time.
Unfinished Business:
Kellog Drain – Letter received from Drain Commission Newman regarding the project. The Township will share the letter with Perry Township.
2017-2018 Audit – Dutcher moved to approve the 2017 – 2018 Audit and the Management Letter as presented. Seconded by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
New Business:
Millage Levy Request – L. Ash moved to submit the L-4029 with millage levy request for Township Operating at .9887, for Fire at 1.0, and for SATA at .15. Seconded by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Oakwood Cemetery – Zdunic moved to have Weinert’s Tree Service remove dying Maple and stump and some hangers in Oakwood Cemetery at a cost of $2,000.00. Seconded by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Hall Rental Agreement for Clubs – L. Ash presented the board with a Hall Rental Policy for Youth Clubs. Board will review for the next meeting.
Snow Removal – Zdunic moved to have Twin Oaks Mowing and Snowplowing provide the snow removal for 2018 -2019 season at a cost of $80/plow for the removal of snow at the hall at 2 inches, $130/plow for snow removal over 6 inches, $45/hour for additional plowing, and $105/application of salt per request or $15/bag. Seconded by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to adjourn. Seconded by Zdunic. Motion carried.
