April 3, 2017
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on April 3, 2017, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Matt Dutcher, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.
L. Ash moved to approve the agenda with addition of Spring Clean Up. Seconded by Garber. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the March 6, 2017 regular board meeting and the March 29, 2017 special board meeting as printed. Seconded by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Seconded by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $17,644.43. Seconded by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Public Comment:
Larry Johnson – Resident interested in serving on the Planning Commission.
Cody Baker – Resident interested in serving on the Planning Commission.
Board Reports:
Library – Garber – Update.
Plan Comm- D. Ash – Recommended approval of one variance request. Lee Ash moved to concur with the Bennington Township Planning Commission and recommend approval of the Dimensional Variance Request Application #PZBA17-007 by Arthur Williams, 345 Highland Ct., Plainwell, MI 49080, site location Lot 32 Manitou Lake, Mohican Trail, property # 78-010-52-032-000, for a Dimensional Variance to allow building construction within the setback requirement of water. Seconded by Lee Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Roads – L. Ash – 2017-2018 contracts are signed.
Unfinished Business:
Spring Clean Up- May 6, 2017, 8:00am – 12:00noon.
New Business:
Fireworks Permit – L. Ash moved to approve the Fireworks Permit for Jon Nash, Ace Pyro at Lake Manitou on July 2, 2017 with a rain date of July 3, 2017, 9:30pm – 11:30pm pending proof of insurance. Seconded by Zdunic. Motion carried. Garber moved to approve the Fireworks Permit for Jon Nash at 4975 W. Grand River Rd. Owosso on July 22, 2017, 7:00pm – 12:00 midnight pending proof of insurance. Seconded by Dutcher. Motion carried.
Roof Repairs – Two bids received. Dutcher moved to accept the bid from Sean Trombley to repair aluminum fascia on the garage and repair the pavilion roof at a cost of $350.00. Seconded by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Assessor Salary – Zdunic moved to raise the annual wage of the assessor to $20,000 per year with the added responsibility of carrying out the necessary corrective actions for the AMAR requirements. Seconded by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Dutcher moved to adjourn. Seconded by Zdunic. Motion carried.
