November 7, 2016
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on November 7, 2016, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.
Forsythe moved to approve the agenda as printed. Seconded by L. Ash. Motion carried.
Garber moved to approve the minutes for the October 3, 2016 regular board meeting as printed. Seconded by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Seconded by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $169,065.70. Seconded by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Public Comment:
Travis Smith – Thanked Jim Forsythe for his service on the board. Asked if anything had been decided on trimming the trees on Tyrrell Rd. L. Ash indicated that the Road Commission would work on trimming the trees this winter.
Board Reports:
Library- Garber – Update.
Plan Comm – D. Ash – Recommended that the Land Division Ordinance suggested by Shiawassee County was not deemed necessary for Bennington Township at this time.
Roads – L. Ash – All projects are completed for the year.
Web Page – Forsythe – Update. Presented the board with the change over requirement to continue the web page through another handler. Forsythe moved to hire Douglas Cornell with Cornell Technology Solutions to provide website support for the Township at a cost of $50.00/hour, billed at ½ hour increments. Seconded by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Unfinished Business:
2015 – 2016 Audit – Forsythe moved to approve the 2015 – 2016 Audit preformed by Andrews Hooper Pavlik PLC as printed. Seconded by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried. Garber moved to accept and issue the letter of management provided by Andrews Hooper Pavlik PLC from the Township Board as printed. Seconded by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
New Business:
Burnham & Flower – Garber move to renew the Township insurance liability package at the current level of $4,000,000 without terrorism coverage at a cost of $5,975.00. Seconded by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Snow Plow Bids – Two bids were received: Twin Oaks Mowing and Snowplowing LLC and Four M Lawn & Snow. L. Ash moved to accept the bid from Twin Oaks Mowing and Snowplowing LLC at a cost of $75.00 per plow at the Township Hall, $45.00/hour to plow the cemeteries and $95.00/application of salt or $15.00/bag. Seconded by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to adjourn. Seconded by L. Ash. Motion carried.
