July 11, 2016
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on July 11, 2016, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.
L. Ash moved to approve the agenda with additions. Seconded by Forsythe. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the June 6, 2016 regular board meeting as printed. Seconded by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Seconded by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve payment of the bills as presented in the amount of $32,222.52. Seconded by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Public Comment:
Frank Gregory – Questioned how many years ago Bennington Road had been chip sealed because he thought that is was holding together well.
Fred Farkas – Thanked the Township for sponsoring the CPR Class.
Jeff Bartz – Questioned when the second application of mineral well brine would be applied because Tyrrell Road was in need of attention.

Board Reports:
Library – Humphrey – June Minutes on file. The board thanked Ed Humphrey for his years of service on the library board as June was his last meeting.
Plan Comm – D. Ash – Reviewed a site plan for Alec Faber. Reviewed a letter received form Richard Hafner regarding Private Road Maintenance for Springbrook Lake. Discussed the County Master Plan Update. Approved three land divisions for Robert Osmer. Forsythe moved to concur with the Township Planning Commission and approve three land divisions for Robert Osmer on parcel #78-010-15-200-007 and # 78-010-15-200-020 located on Old Colony Road. Seconded by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Roads – L. Ash – Chip Seal is complete except for lines. Gravel and tree trimming should begin in about two weeks. The second application of mineral well brine should be any time however the Road Comm is hoping to have some rain before application.

Unfinished Business:
Ambulance Special Assessment –Wording received from the Township Attorney was reviewed by the board and with changes made is ready to go to print.

New Business:
SATA Commitment – Forsythe moved to approve the SATA Commitment for October 1, 2016 – September 30, 2017 at a cost not to exceed $15,936.31. Seconded by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Cemetery Driveway Sealing- Two bid received. Kickin’ Asphalt- Alton Cemetery 1545.00 with an additional 600.00 to repair the hole and Oakwood Cemetery 960.00. EZ Asphalt – Alton Cemetery 3690.00 and Oakwood Cemetery 1366.00. Zdunic moved to accept the bid from Kickin’ Asphalt at a cost of $1,545.00 to reseal the driveway in Alton Cemetery, $600.00 to repair the hole in the driveway at Alton Cemetery and $960.00 to reseal the driveway in Oakwood Cemetery. Seconded by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Hall Cement – Two bids received. B&C – 4459.00. L.A. Bennett Construction, Inc. – 5140.00. Forsythe moved to accept the bid from B&C to repair cement in front of the Township Hall at the front doors and in the parking lot at a total cost of $4,459.00. Seconded by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Volunteers of America – A request was received form Volunteers of America to place a drop box at the Township Hall for donations.
Fire Hydrant Water Well – A request was received from Lake Manitou Association for the Township to build a dedicated fire hydrant water well on the Township premises this fiscal year.
Twp Properly on M- 52 – Zdunic questioned why the Township is holding on to the property and indicated that since there was not a plan for the property it should be sold.
AED Machine– Some prices were obtained for an AED Machine more information will be gathered.
Forsythe moved to adjourn. Seconded by L. Ash. Motion carried.
