February 4, 2013
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by
Supervisor Lee Ash on February 4, 2013, 7:00pm at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Donna
Ash.
Nancy Zdunic was not present.
L. Ash moved to approve the agenda with additions.
Second by Forsythe. Motion
carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the January
7, 2013 regular board meeting as printed.
Second by L. Ash. All
board members present in favor.
Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as
presented. Second by
Forsythe. All board members present in favor.
Motion carried.
Garber moved to approve payment of bills as presented
in the amount of $18,317.30.
Second by Forsythe. All
board members present in favor.

Public Comment:
Fred Farkas- Spoke of his campaign for an Area
Community Organization and Partnership that would include Lake Manitou
and some surrounding areas. Currently taking a survey in regards to the
interest in participation in using only one refuse service for the area.
Board Reports:
Library- Ed Humphrey- Minutes for the January 2013
meeting on file.
Plan Comm- D. Ash- 2013 meeting days were approved.
Discussed the Woodhull Master Plan review. Approved one land
division for Steve Kobe.
Forsythe moved to approve one land division on parcel #010-06-200-001
for Steven Kobe (with) the contingency of providing a legal description
for new parcels and approval of the owners of the property.

Roads- L. Ash- Update.
Need to set up a meeting to discuss 2013 Road Improvement
Projects.

New Business:
Propane Tank- The Township has switched to the use of
natural gas an no longer needs the propane tank.
Forsythe moved to sell the propane tank to Shawnee Creek Farms
for $900.00 and the conditions that the buyer moves the tank as their
cost. Second by L. Ash.
Motion carried.
SSESA- G. Hubbard- Purchased a new ambulance at a
cost of ~$140,000. Spoke of
the amended service fee schedule of the Authority.
Lake Manitou Association Hall Use- Letter was
received form Fred Farkas inquiring as to the use of the Bennington
Township Hall by the Lake Manitou Association for their monthly meetings
with no charge to the Association.
No action taken.
Library Newsletter-
E-mail was received for the District Library inquiring as to the
possibility of placing a newsletter from the library within the tax
bills. The County which
processes the Township tax bills is not able to mechanically place more
than two pieces of paper within each envelope.
Cemetery Lawn Maintenance- L. Ash moved to accept the
contract extension from Munro Enterprise at a cost for all three
cemeteries of $300.00 per mow, $800.00 spring clean up, and $250.00 lawn
rolling. Second by Garber.
All board members in favor.

Annual Meeting- Forsythe moved to hold the Bennington
Township annual meeting on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, 7:00pm with the
Budget Hearing immediately following at the Township Hall.
Second by L. Ash.
Motion carried.
Salary Resolution- L. Ash moved to adopt a resolution
to establish township Clerk and Treasurer salaries to be determined by
the township residents. Second by Garber.
All board members present in favor.

Fireworks Permit- Forsythe moved to approve the
Fireworks Permit for William Nash for a fireworks display on July 27,
2013, 7:00pm – 12:00midnight with the contingency of proof of liability
insurance. Second by L. Ash.

L. Ash moved to approve the Fireworks Permit for Ace Pyro, LLC for the
Lake Manitou Association on July 6, 2013 (rain date July 7, 2013) 8:00pm
- 11:30pm. Second by Garber.
Motion carried.
Poverty Exemption- Forsythe moved to adopt a
resolution for Poverty Exemption Guidelines and Asset Test.
Second by Garber. All
board members present in favor.
